May 26.      Deadline: to apply for a Mail-In Ballot by Mail for Primary Election

May 26-31  Early Voting Period

May 29        Deadline: Application to Receive Primary Election Mail-In Ballots by Electronic Means for Qualified                                     Overseas Civilian and Military Voters

June 1          By 3:00 p.m.   Deadline for In-Person Mail-In Ballot Applications for Primary Election

June 2          Primary Election Day

June 2          Deadline for Post Office Receipt of Mail-In Ballots from the Primary Election

June 2 -        By 8:00 p.m.  Deadline for In-Person Submission of Primary Election Mail-In Ballots to County Boards of                          Election and to Authorized Ballot Drop Boxes

NJ Senate has 40 seats. Current Senate: 25 Dem, 15 Rep

To become a Senator, an individual must be 30 years old, must have lived in their district for two years and the state for four years, and again must live in the represented district.

District 9 Senate Seat is held by Carmen Amato (Republican incumbent - not up for reelection in 2025)

NJ Assembly has 80 seats. Current Assembly 55 Dem, 25 Rep 

To become a member of the Assembly, an individual must be at least 21 years old, must have resided in their district for one year and the state for two years, and must live in the represented district.

Ocean County is part of two legislative districts (there are 40 districts total)

The 9th legislative district overlaps with New Jersey's 2nd and New Jersey's 4th congressional districts.
